Make a difference -- become a 1L mentor!

Serving as a mentor to a first-year law student is an enjoyable and valuable way to give back! Share the wealth of your experience and help a student find his or her professional bearings.

Our 1L mentors come from a wide variety of legal employers including law firms, public interest organizations, government offices, and corporate law departments. After matching each 1L participant with a mentor who shares a similar background or interest, the Law Career Development Office hosts a 1L Mentor Breakfast in October.  Thereafter, students are encouraged to initiate a second meeting with their mentors during the spring semester, and reach out to their mentors by email for advice as needed.

Students have shared with us that the program is one of the most rewarding activities of their 1L year, and that they have maintained relationships with their mentors throughout law school.

Register to become a 1L mentor here, or contact Alyson Todd with questions.
