Checklist for Transfer Students
Students in good standing at other ABA-approved law schools may transfer after one full year of coursework. Students who have completed two years of law school should consider applying as a visiting student. Coursework completed with a grade of C (2.0) qualifies for transfer. To transfer either half of a two semester course, both semesters must be completed with a grade of at least a C (2.0). Students may transfer up to 29 credits.

Checklist for Visiting Students
Students with One Year of Law School
If you have completed one year of study at an ABA-approved law school you may visit for the summer session. You must supply a letter from the dean of your home institution stating that:
- you are a student in good standing
- you may visit for the term
- you may transfer all credits successfully completed at UBalt School of Law
Submit the Maryland Residency Form to be considered for in-state tuition.
Students with Two Years of Law School
If you have completed two years of study at an ABA-approved law school you may apply to visit for the final year of law study. You must supply a letter from the dean of your home institution. The letter must state that you:
- are a student in good standing
- you may visit for the term
- you may transfer all credits successfully completed at UBalt School of Law back to your home institution
You must also submit a personal letter stating the basis for your request including the hardship or compelling circumstances. Submit the Maryland Residency Form to be considered for in-state tuition. You may not earn more than 30 credits at the University of Baltimore School of Law.

If you have attended a university or college outside of the United States or Canada you should follow the process for a first-year applicant. Foreign credentials (transcripts) will be evaluated as part of your CAS report.
