Dedicated to increasing diversity in the legal field.
The University of Baltimore School of Law has a long-standing commitment to diversity and inclusion, in the broadest sense, and has been recognized as a leader in diversity through its establishment of an innovative pipeline program, the Fannie Angelos Program for Academic Excellence. The LCDO is committed to providing a supportive and collaborative environment that enhances the law school experience, as well as maximizing career opportunities, for all UBalt Law students, including students who self-identify as diverse based on gender, sexual orientation, race, culture, ethnicity, religion, and/or disability.
Many legal organizations and legal employers have broad diversity initiatives and sponsor diversity events for law students, which the LCDO identifies and promotes to our law students, including diversity scholarships, fellowships, internships, and job fairs. The LCDO encourages all students who are interested in the various diversity scholarships and internships to apply, and to attend events and programming offered throughout the academic year.
Our diverse student organizations also play a pivotal role in providing strong social networks, as well as welcoming and supportive environments for our diverse student body. The LCDO works closely with, and supports, these student groups in their efforts to offer and promote programming and connect with the larger legal community.
