Rachel Fluriach – Chair
Fluriach is a 3L day student. In addition to serving on the Honor Board, Rachel is the vice president of the Criminal Law Association and the representative for the Latin American Law Student Association. She proudly serves as a student-attorney in the Innocence Project Clinic pursuant to MD Rule 19-220.
Fluriach graduated from Florida State University with a B.S. in Criminology. Prior to law school, she worked as a criminal defense investigator in Florida. In her free time, she enjoys dining at local sushi restaurants and spending time with her cats, Hobie and Leo.
Nicholas Balzano
Balzano is a 3L day student. In addition to Honor Board, he is a production editor for Law Review. He graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration from Towson University. In his free time, he enjoys watching the Orioles and spending time with his family, friends, his dog Dexter, and his bearded dragon Gizmo.
Christina Charikofsky
Charikofsky is a 2L student. In addition to being a member of the Honor Board, she is a member of Law Review, a law scholar for Torts, and a research assistant for Professor Dionne Koller. She graduated from Goucher College with a double major in Political Science and Economics. In her free time, Charikofsky enjoys rooting for her hometown Baltimore Ravens and Orioles, and spending time with her dog and two cats.
Alessandra Checchia
Checchia is a 3L day student. She graduated from Stonehill College with a double major in Sociology and Criminology, and a double minor in Anthropology and Religious Studies. In her free time, she enjoys reading and spending time with her family and friends.
Joe Danahy
Danahy is a fourth-year evening student. In addition to the Honor Board, he is a member of the Royal Graham Shannonhouse III Honor Society and a UB LEADS Mentor. He earned his B.S. in Criminal Justice with a minor in Homeland Security.
Danahy works full-time, but when he is not working or focused on school, he spends as much time as possible with his wife and two sons.
Amanda Fruman
Fruman is a 2L day student. In addition to Honor Board, she is a staff editor for Law Review and vice president of the Jewish Law Student Association. Fruman graduated with a B.A. in Law & Policy and Political Science from Dickinson College. Outside of school, she enjoys playing in field hockey leagues and spending time with her two rescue dogs, Posie and Phil.
Khadijah E. Josephs
Josephs is a 2L evening student. In addition to the Honor Board, she is a member of Omicron Delta Kappa and a 2023-2024 Moot Court Competitor. She has a master’s degree in Public Administration and a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and Criminology with a minor in Philosophy.
Josephs has a full-time job, and when she is not working or studying, she enjoys going for long-distance runs and spending quality time with her family and best friends.
Charlotte Moreno
Moreno is a 3L day student who transferred to UBalt Law in her second year. She has interned for Clean Air Council in Philadelphia and assisted in research regarding the Inflation Reduction Act. She is also a member of the Environmental Law Society and the Latin American Law Student Association.
Prior law school, Moreno worked at the U.S. EPA in Cincinnati, Ohio. She is a proud alumna of Gettysburg College, where she majored in Environmental Science and English and minored in Spanish. She is from Pennsylvania but currently lives in Baltimore. She enjoys cooking for loved ones and birdwatching.
Kayla Preston
Preston is a 2E evening student who works as a software engineer at Northrop Grumman during the day. In addition to the Honor Board, she is the Black Law Student Association's director of programming.
She graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park, with a Bachelor of Science in Information Science and a minor in Law. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and her 5-year-old golden doodle, Kali.
Anaisha Ramzey
Ramzey is a 2L day student. In addition to serving on the Honor Board, Anaisha is a staff editor on Law Forum and the secretary of the Black Law Student Association.
Originally a Virginia native, she currently lives in downtown Baltimore. Ramzey graduated from Old Dominion University with a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in Public Service. Prior to law school, she worked as an associate in advising and fund development for a nonprofit. In her free time, she enjoys dancing, trying new restaurants, spending time with family and friends, and traveling.
Marey Robinson
Robinson is a 2L day student. In addition to Honor Board, she is the vice president of the Government and Military Law Students Association, and the sports programming director for the Student Bar Association.
Robinson graduated from Carthage College with a B.A. in Business, with minors in Political Science and Religious Studies. In her free time, she enjoys watching sports, reading, hanging out with friends and family, and being outside.
Adeieye Samura
Samura is a 3L day student. In addition to the Honor Board, she is a member of the Christian Law Students Association and the Black Law Student Association. She graduated from Bowie State University and received a Bachelor of Science in Sociology.
In her free time, Samura enjoys traveling to different countries, spending time with her family and friends, and shopping.
Haley Wittstadt
Wittstadt is a 3L day student. In addition to serving on the Honor Board, she is a member of the Student Conduct Board, a trained support individual for students accused of a conduct violation, a two-time UB LEADS Mentor, and the president of Students Supporting the Women’s Law Center.
Wittstadt graduated from the University of Baltimore with a major in Philosophy, Law and Ethics, where she also earned a minor in Business Management. In her free time, she enjoys taking walks with her dog, Finn.
Sarah Williams
Williams is a 3L day student. In addition to Honor Board, she is the vice president of the Entertainment, Arts, & Sports Law Association, a research assistant for Professor Kim Wehle, and a law scholar for both Criminal Law and Contracts II.
Originally from a small town in Kentucky, Williams attended college at Bellarmine University in Louisville. She earned her master’s at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. In her free time, she enjoys reading, playing tennis, and visiting her family.
Patricia Ziff
Ziff is a 3L day student. In addition to serving on the Honor Board, she is an associate editor for Law Forum, a member of the Legal Writing Center, and the community service chair for the Women's Bar Association.
Ziff graduated from the University of Maryland with degrees in Secondary English Education and Art History. She later earned a master's degree in Gifted and Talented Education from Notre Dame of Maryland. Prior to law school, she had a career as a high school English and art history teacher.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and her dogs, and taking care of her garden and wild birds.
