Summary
Freelance Contractor will provide part-time editorial support to assist with the development and implementation of the marketing, outreach, and publication initiatives for the University of Baltimore School of Law Sayra and Neil Meyerhoff Center for Families, Children and the Courts (CFCC). Formalizing processes, updating marketing plans, and managing social media and networking platforms, to create a centralized source for marketing information while interacting with CFCC, University Relations and other units within the University of Baltimore to ensure that the marketing accurately reflects the University brand.
Key Responsibilities:

Attend 1-2 onsite or remote meetings per month, plus weekly correspondence regarding ongoing projects and activities related to CFCC marketing;

Provide editorial support for CFCC marketing initiative;

Provide one round of full updates to program website content;

Assist with CFCC marketing initiative, including editorial support, development of a press release, and development of program-specific marketing email;

Develop, implement, and manage CFCC’s marketing/outreach and sales strategy;

Conduct market research, monitor, review, and report to determine market requirements for existing and future CFCC publications and activities and other marketing activity and results;

Assist in scheduling, developing and maintaining CFCC written work product including but not limited to, newsletters, social media posts, brochures, and other materials;

Write and maintain updated content for CFCC website to reflect policy information;

Maintain social media accounts and create social media content

Supervise/oversee print and email distribution lists for CFCC communications;

Research, plan, and update messaging and artwork;
Education and Experience:
-
Communication or marketing-related degree or equivalent professional qualification
-
Experience in developing and maintaining marketing strategies
-
Technical marketing skills
-
Experience with sales
-
Experience in customer and market research
-
Relevant product and industry knowledge
-
Experience with relevant software applications
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

A strong sense of style paired with flawless English-language spelling and grammar

Familiarity with at least one family law issue (including but not limited to foster care, youth justice, and disability)

Currently enrolled in or completed a writing-related undergraduate or postgraduate program
-
A critical eye and the ability to clearly explain the strengths and weaknesses of a given piece of text

Technical marketing skills and sound understanding of marketing principles

Effective organizational skills

Effective project management skills

Excellent Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook skills.

Effective Graphic or publication design skills.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

1-2 years of experience creating, distributing, and evaluating social media content

Proven ability to grow social media audience

Effective communication with youth, parents, and legislators
