THE DEIB DEAN’S ACTION COLLABORATIVE
The Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging Dean’s Action Collaborative (DEIB-DAC) is charged with (1) convening to discuss and assess law school community DEIB needs, goals, and efforts, with a special focus on talent recruitment, retention, education, and support for faculty and staff; and (2) providing the Dean with meaningful input and actionable recommendations to enrich law school DEIB efforts and enhance the law school culture and climate for staff and faculty, especially underrepresented groups, and to provide input relating to student needs, goals and efforts.
The DEIB-DAC complements student DEIB efforts led by the Diversity Council and the Student Bar Association. Guided by the UBalt Law’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging Statement, each of these groups works to discuss issues of diversity, inclusivity, belonging and community at our school, and to assess and recommend ways to implement meaningful action to holistically achieve UBalt Law DEIB goals.
The DEIB-DAC, led by Mark Bell, UBalt Law’s Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging, is composed of three law school faculty members and three law school staff members, selected by the Dean, who are interested in moving forward DEIB goals and efforts. The group meets regularly to perform its work. For more information on the DEIB-DAC, please contact Mark Bell.
