Prof. Gilda Daniels's Book Exposes a Crisis of Voter Suppression

University of Baltimore School of Law Prof. Gilda Daniels's first book, Uncounted: The Crisis of Voter Suppression in America, is receiving high praise from reviewers. Ms. Magazine calls it "required reading … the definitive book on fighting against voter suppression and the erosion of our democracy." Library Journal says, "[T]his work sounds an alarm for any and all readers interested in reversing the damage and danger of the nondemocratic dynamic threatening truth, justice, and the fight to vote." School of Law LLM Tax Student Elizabeth Burlington Wins Federal Bar Association's Tax Law Writing Competition

Elizabeth Burlington, J.D. '12, has won first place in the Federal Bar Association's 2020 Donald C. Alexander Tax Law Writing Competition. Burlington is currently enrolled in ther Universty of Baltimore's LLM Tax program and is assistant director of UB's Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic.

The documentary film Broken Trust: Ending Athlete Abuse will be shown at the University of Baltimore School of Law on Feb. 6. Made by Jill Yesko, the film gives voice to the brave athletes who have spoken up against mistreatment at all levels of sports. Yesko and former gymnast Jessica Armstrong share their personal stories of sexual and emotional abuse by trusted adults and mentors.
Shannonhouse Honor Society Inducts 16 Law Students

Sixteen evening students were inducted Jan. 23 into the Royal Graham Shannonhouse III Honor Society, which recognizes Universty of Baltimore School of Law students who have distinguished themselves academically after completing 32 credits.
