KIND Offers Pro Bono Training to UBalt Alumni Dec. 16
KIND (Kids In Need of Defense) is a national organization that provides quality pro bono representation to immigrant children in removal proceedings by training and mentoring pro bono attorneys.
The University of Baltimore School of Law demonstrated its commitment to pro bono work by giving a permanent home to KIND's Baltimore office in the new John and Frances Angelos Law Center. If you’re a graduate of UBalt School of Law interested in immigration law, learn about pro bono opportunities at KIND's introductory training on Monday, Dec. 16 from 12-2 p.m. in room 102 of the law center.
The training will cover KIND's mission, an introduction to the children the organization serves, its mentoring process, tips for working with child clients and survivors of trauma, as well as an overview of basic immigration law and common forms of relief available to children. Summaries of available cases for pro bono placement will be provided.
If you're interested in participating in this brown bag lunch training, please R.S.V.P. For more information, please contact Liz Shields.
