Curriculum Vitae
Kempler joined the University of Baltimore School of Law as the Director of Bar Success in July 2020. Prior to joining UB, Kempler spent 18 years as the vice president of program development for Shemer Bar Review, LLC, where he designed innovative bar passage programs, taught classes in the techniques of bar success, and advised, supported, and motivated thousands of individual students. Prior to his work in the bar exam preparation industry, Kempler was an executive in the healthcare field.
Kempler believes the path to success on the bar exam (and law school generally) requires the Three C's: commitment, competence and confidence. Law students and bar exam candidates must adequately plan for the rigor of their studies, carefully balancing their obligations to work, family and community. Kempler is committed to providing the optimal environment and instruction for students to build the confidence necessary to succeed on the bar exam.
He received his B.A. in Philosophy and Psychology, cum laude, from Boston University, and his J.D., summa cum laude, from University of Baltimore School of Law. He worked full-time in the bar review industry while attending law school as a part-time day student and served as a Baltimore Law Scholar for multiple first-year subjects.
