DLA Piper Supports School of Law with $250K Donation

A donation of $250,000 from the Baltimore office of global law firm DLA Piper to the University of Baltimore School of Law's new John and Frances Angelos Law Center will allow for the construction of both outdoor and indoor water features for the building, each of which will be named after the firm.
U.S. Justice Department's Ronald Weich Named Dean of Law School

Ronald Weich, the assistant attorney general for legislative affairs in the U.S. Department of Justice and former chief counsel to both U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Senator Edward M. Kennedy, is the new dean of the University of Baltimore School of Law. Weich, a longtime federal official with expertise in criminal justice and legislative process, will begin his tenure as dean in July.

Law Professor Receives Regents' Faculty Award

Margaret Johnson, associate professor in the University of Baltimore School of Law and founder of the school's annual Feminist Legal Theory Conference, is one of 16 educators from across the University System of Maryland to receive a 2012 USM Board of Regents' Faculty Award. She was honored for her work in establishing the conference.
