CFCC Releases Study and Recommendations for a Pilot Unified Family Court Project in Douglas County, Nebraska
July 9, 2019
A report by the University of Baltimore School of Law Sayra and Neil Meyerhoff Center for Families, Children and the Courts Director Professor Barbara A. Babb, former Senior Fellow Gloria H. Danziger, and Consultant Diane Nunn.
As in many court systems across the country, cases involving children and families are among the most numerous and complex matters the Nebraska court system encounters. CFCC recently led an intensive effort to assess the feasibility of developing and implementing a unified family court pilot project in Douglas County. The work plan included the review of current court operations, survey research, and other engagement sessions. This report focuses on a series of recommendations for the development and implementation of a unified family court pilot project.
