Moot Court Team Announcements

2009-2010

Thomas Tang Moot Court Team

        --Team member Diane Norcross won second place in oral argument at regionals.  The team advanced to the semi-final round of the regional competition.  

2008-2009

International Human Rights Moot Court Team   

       --Only American team to advance to semi-finals and wrote the best American brief.  Team member Nick Allen was highest scoring American oralist; team member Arezoo Jamishidi was second-highest scoring American oralist.      

John J. Gibbons Criminal Procedure Moot Court Team   

       --Awarded second best petitioner's brief out of a field of thirty-two teams.  Advanced through several rounds to the octo-finals.    

 Frederick Douglass Moot Court Team   

       --Advanced to the final round at regionals.  Placed second in the regional competition, just behind Georgetown University Law School.  Argued at nationals in Irvine, CA.  

Cardozo-BMI Moot Court Competition    

      --Advanced to semi-final round, finishing in fourth place overall in a field of thirty teams.  

Phillip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition

       --Team member Laura Burrows ranked as top twentieth oralist in the Mid-Atlantic super region for the national rounds.  The teams' brief placed sixth best in the region out of twenty-four teams.  

National Appellate Advocacy Moot Court Competition

       --Team member Jeremy Wyatt received seventh best oral advocate award at regionals.  

Brand Names Foundation Moot Court Competition

       --Team placed fourth at regionals.  The team excelled at the writing portion of the competition, with their brief scoring second best in the region, and seventh best in the nation out of sixty-one teams.      

Domenick L. Gabrielli National Family Law Moot Court Competition

       --Team placed second in the country at nationals.    

National Taxation Moot Court Team 

       --Second runner up in oral argument component of national competition.  Advanced to semi-final rounds of the national competition.

Thomas Tang Moot Court Team

        --Placed second in regional competition and advanced to national competition.  Team member Michael Neuman chosen as best oral advocate in the regional competition.

2007-2008

National Taxation Moot Court Team
        --Advanced to the quarter-finals by winning two of its three arguments in the preliminary round.

Frederick Douglass Moot Court Team
       --Advanced to the quarter-final round at the Mid-Atlantic Black Law Students' Association Conference.

National Moot Court Team
      --Advanced to the semi-final rounds of the Region 3 Competition.

Phillip C. Jessup International Team
      --The UB Jessup team placed 14th out of 24 competing teams in the super-regional competition.
