Student Liaison Program
The Student Liaison Program (SL)
One of the main responsibilities of the Regular Board members is to act as a Student Liaison to one or two of the nineteen Moot Court Teams. Studen Liaisons are assigned to the teams based on the interests of the Board member. A Student Liaison acts as a liaison between the Board and the teams. The primary function of the Student Liaison is to help the teams prepare for their competition by reserving practice rooms and attending the team's moots to act as a judge or time keeper. Additionally, Student Liaisons are responsible for answering any questions the team members and coach have about travel policies, reimbursement policies, etc.
The Student Liaison responsibilities:
- Email the team coach and members to introduce yourself as the Student Liaison and explain your function,
- Provide the team and coach with a current and often checked email address,
- Help the team obtain judges for their Moots (working with the Moots Chair on the Executive Board),
- Assist team coach in reserving rooms at University of Baltimore for the team's Moots,
- Attend some or all of the Moots to act as a practice judge or time keeper,
- Answer questions the team has about where to go to get reimbursed for travel costs, competition fees, etc.,
- Keep the team and coach apprised of any updated policies regarding the Moot Court Program,
- Keep the Executive Board updated if the coach leaves the team or if the team does not have enough members to compete and
- Inform the Public Relations Chair on the Executive Board how the team did in their competition so the information can be publicized to the entire Law School community.
