Prior to joining the faculty, Professor Johnson Dennis practiced, in New York as a corporate finance associate with Bryan Cave LLP. In that capacity she represented clients in structured finance transactions, mergers and acquisitions and assisted clients in meeting their compliance obligations under the federal securities laws. Prior to joining Bryan Cave, Professor Johnson Dennis was a corporate associate at Kirkpatrick & Lockhart Preston Gates Ellis LLP where she represented clients in structured finance transactions, the purchase and sale of distressed debt, and reorganizing and restructuring. While in private practice Professor Johnson Dennis also represented pro bono clients establishing corporate entities, seeking tax exemption and defending against foreclosure proceedings.
Professor Johnson Dennis earned her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. She was editor of the Constitutional Law Section of the Georgetown Journal of Gender and the Law. She received her A.B. in Economics from Princeton University. Professor Johnson Dennis is a member of the New York, Maryland and District of Columbia bars.
