The Staff and Board of the Intellectual Property Law Journal are proud to announce the Annual Symposium scheduled to be held on March 26, 2010.

Please review the following call for papers for our Symposium.

THE DOMESTIC IMPACT OF INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY IN A GLOBAL ECONOMY

The University of Baltimore School of Law’s Intellectual Property Law Journal (IPLJ) and Intellectual Property Law Society are hosting an IP symposium on March 26, 2010.  The IPLJ is seeking submissions for its 2010 symposium issue.

The theme of this year’s symposium is: “The Domestic Impact of Intellectual Property in a Global Economy.”  The symposium will address issues and trends related to intellectual property (IP) litigation in the United States stemming from international markets for goods, services, and IP.  For example, the symposium will address litigation before the International Trade Commission (ITC) and enforcement of IP rights by U.S. Customs & Border Protection (CBP).

The symposium will include panel discussions drawing from the perspectives of scholars and practitioners in an effort to reveal new insights on IP and globalization.  The symposium is scheduled for Friday, March 26, 2010 at the University of Baltimore School of Law, located in the Mount Vernon arts district of downtown Baltimore, Maryland.

Please submit your abstract (one-page maximum), topic proposal, or draft manuscript by November 9, 2009 to Felicia Metz.  Practitioners need not follow a strictly academic format but should address the symposium theme.  Please make sure to include your contact information with your submission.  Submissions are due no later than January 8, 2010.

We anticipate publishing three papers in the symposium edition of the Intellectual Property Law Journal.  We will announce acceptances by November 23, 2009 and will post all abstracts and working drafts on the UB IP symposium website.  Authors of accepted submissions are also invited to speak at the symposium.  A limited amount of money will be available to presenters for travel expenses.

Please send questions and submissions to:
