Protecting and Restoring the Bay's Native Fish and Shellfish Population

The University of Baltimore School of Law is proud to host the third annual The Bay in Crisis: Saving the Chesapeake symposium on Thursday, Nov. 19. Experts and policymakers will come together again to speak about programs to protect and restore the Bay and the additional steps necessary to rejuvenate the Chesapeake. This year's symposium addresses the issues surrounding the protection and restoration of the Bay's native fish and shellfish. Panelists will discuss problems facing Bay fish and shellfish restoration efforts and detail programs already in place to restore the Bay's native populations and keep them from future harm.

J. Charles Fox, special advisor to the administrator at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, will deliver a morning keynote address. The School of Law is also proud to welcome Maryland Attorney General Douglas F. Gansler, who will return as the event's lunchtime speaker. A full agenda is available at right.

This symposium is free and open to the public, but the courtesy of an RSVP is requested by Nov. 16, 2009. Online registration is now available! If you prefer to RSVP by phone, please call 410.837.4468.

The Bay in Crisis symposium series is sponsored by the Garten and Fedder families in memory of Lawrence Michael Garten, JD ’77.
