Your Journey to the Bar |
Effective study skills are essential for law school success, yet students often find their undergraduate experiences have not prepared them for the demands of this new learning environment. In this session, you will learn about (1) features of law school that distinguish it from other educational settings; (2) the unique study skills required for law school; and (3) UB Law’s Academic Support Program. Presented by Director of Academic Success, Professor Marta Baffy. |
What is law and how does it work? This session will provide you with a big-picture introduction to concept of law and its key categories. Topics covered will include the nature of legal argument, the role of rule-based reasoning, and how justice fits into the picture. Presented by Associate Dean Colin Starger.
|
Want to practice law? You must first become a member of the bar. During this session we will discuss the typical requirements for admission to a state bar, the format and purpose of the bar exam, the character and fitness process, and the law school’s role in supporting you all along the way. Your journey to the bar begins today! Presented by Director of Bar Success Professor Neal Kempler. |
