An unprecedented gathering of amateur sports experts will take place on Oct. 29 at the University of Baltimore School of Law, when the school's Center for Sport and the Law hosts its inaugural amateur sports symposium, "From Doping to Diversity: Legal Issues in the American Olympic Movement."

TODAY: U.S. Sen. Benjamin L. Cardin, junior senator for the State of Maryland, will discuss the effects of potential health care reform on the legal profession, to kick off the School of Law's a.m. Law series.

September 18 - Law Professor Writes About Post-Title IX World of Youth Sports
Dionne L. Koller, assistant professor in the University of Baltimore School of Law and an expert in sports and the law, has published an op-ed in The Baltimore Sun on the effects of Title IX on youth sports, and the growing problem of Maryland students opting out of athletics altogether.

September 14 - Constitution Day: How Justices Are Chosen for the Supreme Court, Sept. 17
A close look at the selection and confirmation process for Supreme Court justices - most recently witnessed during the hearings for new Justice Sonia Sotomayor - will highlight the University of Baltimore School of Law's annual Constitution Day event on Thursday, Sept. 17.
