Second-year students (Class of 2022) and third-year students (Class of 2021) interested in a 2021 summer law clerk position with a leading law firm in Montgomery County, MD are encouraged to attend this Information Session where you will learn more about the benefits of participating in the program and the application process. The Montgomery County Summer Pipeline Program partners specialty bar associations with regional law schools to identify
diverse law students
to compete for summer intern positions within selected Montgomery County law firms, including Shulman Rogers, Lerch Early, Whiteford Taylor & Preston LLP, and Stein Sperling. The selected students will be hired for summer internships, thereby creating a pipeline of diverse, talented lawyers who will hopefully join the ranks of Montgomery County practitioners upon completion of law school. Each student will be paid a stipend for the summer internship.

The Army JAG Corps is launching a 1L intern program for Summer 2021! Please join Cpt. Estefania Mishkin, Acting Command Judge Advocate, to learn more about Army JAG Corps career pathways and intern programs, including active duty, USAR, the 2L intern program, and 1L intern program. First-year and second-year law students are encouraged to attend.
UB LLM and Post JD Information Session

Learn about UB’s Graduate Tax Program (LL.M in Taxation and Certificate in Estate Planning) and Post-JD Certificate in Family Law. This session will cover the admissions process, program options and opportunities. UB students have the advantage of being able to take courses now that may be applied to a graduate degree. All post-JD programs can be completed while continuing to work full time with flexible classes options. Judge Nazarian will offer an overview of appellate practice, explain why interning or clerking for an appellate judge is so valuable, and then guide students through tips for navigating the application and hiring process. There will be plenty of opportunity for Q&A, so please bring all your questions!
1L EXPLOR Program
The application for the 2021 EXPLOR program is now open! The EXPLOR placement program is a great opportunity for 1D or 2E students to apply what they have learned during their first year of law school to actual practice, while volunteering at least 2 days a week for a legal office. The application for EXPLOR is due by NOON on Monday, January 25th.

There are many judges who are still accepting applications for post-graduate judicial clerkships. Spend some time over Thanksgiving getting your applications ready and reach out to the LCDO for any assistance. The judges who ask that applications be mailed may be getting fewer applications so don’t overlook opportunities with those judges! If you plan on applying to one or more of the diversity-related scholarship and fellowship opportunities available for Summer 2021, then attend this program! Kia Scipio, Director of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at Ropes & Gray LLP, will guide students through tips for navigating the various diversity fellowships, scholarships, and other hiring programs you will encounter on the road to a summer legal job, including how to write a compelling diversity personal statement. There will also be time to hear from UB Law students who secured a Summer 2020 placement through a diversity hiring program. As opportunities are available to both the Class of 2022 and Class of 2023, 1Ls and 2Ls are encouraged to attend.

ACC National Capital Region Corporate Scholars Program

The ACC National Capital Region Corporate Scholars Program provides experiential learning opportunities in the local legal departments of prestigious companies and not-for-profit organizations. The Corporate Scholars Program is designed to give students from the law schools in the region meaningful exposure to in-house practice. This is also a “diversity pipeline” program. ABA Section of Litigation's 2021 Judicial Intern Opportunity Program (JIOP)
Application Deadline: Sunday, Jan. 10, 2021
The Section’s Judicial Intern Opportunity Program (JIOP) is a summer judicial internship program open to all diverse first- and second-year law students. JIOP students intern for a minimum of six weeks over the summer with a participating state or federal judge. Please apply early - screening interviews are guaranteed for the first 500 applicants and additional students will be screened on an as-needed basis. The Federal Communications Bar Association (FCBA) is launching the Diversity Pipeline Program to attract, develop, and support diverse law students who are interested in pursuing legal careers in technology, media, and telecommunications (TMT) law and policy. In this informational webinar, tech bar leaders will share their perspectives on the importance of diversity in the law and legal opportunities in (TMT), and FCBA committee chairs will share details on the purpose, timeline, and application process of the Pipeline Program.
