Major General William K. Suter, since 1991 the clerk of the U.S. Supreme Court and the lead manager of its crowded, history-making docket, will discuss litigating before the nine justices in a special event at the University of Baltimore School of Law on Tuesday, Oct. 23.
Bisera Turkovic, ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the United States, the United Mexican States and the Federative Republic of Brazil, will lecture on the importance of maintaining human rights in countries with a mix of ethnic groups, during a special lecture in the School of Law on Nov. 7.
Recognizing that many of the environmental issues of the Chesapeake Bay are tied to the legal system, the UB School of Law will host a major symposium, "The Bay in Crisis: Saving the Chesapeake," on Nov. 16. This free event will feature panel discussions by government officials, as well as policy specialists, private citizens, opinion leaders and the public.
"Aspire: Paintings by Anita Philyaw," the inaugural exhibit in the University of Baltimore School of Law's new art gallery, is now open to the public. The Washington, D.C.-based artist is nationally renowned for her bold, large-scale acrylic paintings.
As part of the University of Baltimore's celebration of Constitution Day on Sept. 17, the School of Law will present a special panel discussion on Supreme Court history and its impact, featuring four distinguished members of the School of Law faculty.
